The Uprising

Pädagogisches Toolkit – Dekolonisation

Our Strategy Manager Pravini Baboeram published a guide for educators to engage their students in decolonizing the mind.

This toolkit is specifically developed and designed for people who want to use The Uprising as an educational resource. Whether you are well immersed in the decolonial struggle or relatively new to this topic, whether you are an educational professional or a professional who wants to take on an educational role, or if you simply want to contribute to educating people on decolonization, this toolkit is for you.

Decolonizing the Mind

This document is a collection of concepts and activities to engage people in “decolonizing the mind”. The toolkit supports you in facilitating a process of:

    • Awareness: what is colonialism and colonial legacy and how has it shaped our worldviews and current societies?
    • Empowerment: how can we challenge colonial legacy and work towards decolonization?
    • Engagement: what does decolonization look like and how can we contribute to this process?

Based on the concepts, analysis and experiences offered in the films, this toolkit contains practical and theoretical activities to understand, apply and develop decolonial theory and practice. The toolkit is available for free.
