Our classes are taught in the Kalakshetra style. The Kalakshetra style is characterised by clear guidelines and specifications on how the dancers' movements should be performed. However, the aim of the lessons is not to achieve a perfect ideal state, but rather to constantly question and perfect oneself and one's movements. To this end, the dancers work with both their bodies and their minds.

Our dance teacher/guru NS Vathsalan first came into contact with Bharata Natyam at the age of three when he attended dance classes taught by Merlin Kramer (Gurukulam).
