This is not a question Germany is facing for the first time.

As early as the 1960s, 70s and 80s, nurses from Kerala in southern India came to Germany, Austria and Switzerland to help address the shortage of care workers at the time. WHO CARED documents their life stories, bringing visibility to a largely overlooked history of female migration.

On 15 November, the WHO CARED online archive officially goes live.
