Reena Pathrose is a linguist, teacher, dancer and choreographer.
She is well versed in the Indian culture through her own ethnicity. Her parents exposed her to various classical Indian dance styles and instruments in addition to growing up bilingually. She specialized in the southindian dance styles Bharata Natyam and Mohiniyattom. Her well renowned dance gurus included Kala Vijayan, daughter of legendary Kalamandalam founder Kalyanikutti Amma.
She enjoys passing on her long knowledge to others: Reena already has experience teaching Bharata Natyam in her dance school in Essen, Germany, and she conducted workshops in the former Werkstatt (now Tanzhaus NRW) in Düsseldorf, Germany. Today she is also teaching her second mother tongue Malayalam in Düsseldorf, Germany. She has continued developing her own performance skills on stage at various events.
Reena is presently collaborating with Vathsalan Rajan and Manoj Kurian to restage a dance drama premiering in Cologne in November 2019.
