Julia Anjuli Wadhawan

Projektleitung WHO CARED

Julia Anjuli Wadhawan is a freelance journalist, author, and writing coach. She tells life stories, develops creative concepts, and teaches storytelling, creative writing, and yoga. Trained as a business editor, she was named Specialist Journalist of the Year in 2017. As a freelancer, she has written youth-focused news, produced knowledge podcasts, and reported from and about India for several years.

In her debut book Sag mir nicht, wer ich bin (dtv, 2022), Julia explores identity politics in India and Germany through personal and journalistic lenses. She is an alumna of the Robert Bosch Foundation’s Media Ambassador Fellowship and a founding member of the Indo-German Media Network. She also writes the Einfach Yoga series for Der SPIEGEL.

Julia’s work aims to shift how we think about identity – as something fluid, connecting rather than dividing.

At Masala Movement, Julia leads the development of WHO CARED, a digital archive that documents the migration stories of women who came to Germany as caregivers. As project manager, she oversees coordination, outreach, and strategic planning.
